|Sussex County Charter Students Learn about the Science and Technology in Healthcare|
Sixth grade students at Sussex County Charter School for Technology recently participated in a hands-on learning experience exploring the healthcare field with Sparta Ambulance Squad members.
As part of a special health and physical education class, students learned about the science, technology, and math behind back boarding, oxygen tank use, blood pressure, and finding heart rates. Students were also provided with a demonstration on how the automated external defibrillator (AED) machines work on patients. As part of the interactive visit, students were also able to explore the technology that is inside and outside of a typical ambulance.
